Berkshire Paint and Sip was established in 2013, located at 305 North St in Pittsfield, MA.
The company started as an art studio offering paint parties to the public in a social atmosphere for public events, private gatherings, fundraisers, and structured art lessons. Michelle Iglesias (aka Michelle the Painter) founded Berkshire Paint and Sip in an effort to bring the fun and exciting experience of painting to the public, and to have a place to showcase her own fine art in a gallery setting. Fast forward to 2020 when the pandemic started… Michelle closed the physical studio for safety reasons, thinking that it would only be temporary, boy was she wrong!
While the physical studio was closed, she pivoted her teaching practices into an online platform, creating tutorial videos and conducting virtual live classes. Thankfully, this strategic business move paid off. The physical studio remains closed, while Michelle continues to use the step-by-step painting process that she developed at Berkshire Paint and Sip as the structure for her video tutorials. She’s still painting and sipping… it’s just now being done virtually from the safety of her home studio.
